Los Amigos
Los Amigos is one of the oldest and most infamous gay bars in Puerto Vallarta. Lots of very friendly locals here and some of the lowest drink prices too.
Apaches
Apaches is restaurant and martini bar owned by a lesbian couple that sits right on the Olas Altas sidewalk and is almost always very crowded. Apaches is also the oldest gay business in Puerto Vallarta. It's been around that many years for good reason.
Back Alley Bistro
The most wonderful steaks, among other things.
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
Seafood restaurant on the Malecon, some may know the chain from the US. This Bubba Gump is a huge supporter of gay people and businesses here in Vallarta and deserves our support.
The Cheeky Monkey
Gay friendly bar and restaurant on the Malecon with good drinks and food, friendly staff, and great views of the ocean, sunset, fireworks, and the people below.

Coco Tropical
Dining on the beach, very nice menu and staff with (we think) the best shrimp cocktail in town.
Daiquiri Dick's
Dine on the beach with an adventurous but reasonably priced menu of outstanding food and excellent service. Daiquiri Dick's is consistently first-rate.
The Deli
A full service bakery and deli run right across the street from Club Mañana by our friends at Daiquiri Dick's. Excellent for lunch or a take-home dinner.
D'Fever Cafe
D'Fever is a great little coffee house and bar at the end of Lazaro Cardenas on the Park and the beach. Good food, coffee, drinks, patio and great scenery, and by scenery we mean cruising.
Diva's
Friendly neighborhood bar with a large local following and a great staff and management, not to mention the lowest drink prices in town. Be sure to visit.
El Arrayán
To be honest, we've never been to this restaurant with high Mexican cuisine but it's a lesbian-owned Vallarta fixture that everyone raves about, so we're recommending it.
Encuentros Pizza Bar & Lounge
Wonderful food and atmosphere (and great prices), right around the corner from Club Mañana. This is our absolute favorite place in town (outside of Club Mañana of course). We love it so much we have our very own Encuentros Restaurant INSIDE Club Mañana.
Frida
Practically a Vallarta institution for many good reasons. A terrific and friendly neighborhood bar with a wonderful staff and management. Also a must-visit. Frida has a great happy hour and is usually busy all night long too.
Garbo
Upscale piano-y kinda bar with a large local and international following. It's a great place to start your evening, or finish up after dinner.
La Noche
One of the most popular martini bars in town (along with Apaches), La Noche has a distinctive, laid back atmosphere charged with sexual energy. La Noche is usually crowded every night.
La Piazzetta

Great menu and jazz music, very highly recommended.
Pie in the Sky
Pie in the Sky has been named "Best Bakery" for five straight years in the Virtual Vallarta Reader's Poll. The pies are pretty incredible, we have to say, and the cafe is very nice. The coffee is good, the pastries are delicious, the wireless is free and the location is handy. Located on Lazaro Cardenas between Calle I. Vallarta and the Park. There's another location in Bucerias too.
Plasma Video Bar
We love Plasma; it reminds us of a gay bar from the 70's (in a very good way). Has a dark room and shows videos. Check it out. Terrific staff and management.
Stereo
Stereo is a cute, fun, European-style pocket disco very popular with both locals and visitors. Owner and host Edgar "Harry Potter" Sanchez is always on hand and presents some of the most interesting entertainers in Puerto Vallarta.
Teatro Limon
The latest restaurant from Bruce (of Bruce's Back Alley fame), located in the hills east of the Marina. The kitchen's in full view and everyone receives intensely personal service and an incredibly delicious meal. Not to be missed.
Xocodiva
Hand crafted artisan Chocolates to die for. Seriously. Lesbian-owned. Nirvana awaits you. On Rodolfo Gomez in the San Marino Hotel.

When you're in Puerto Vallarta and not at Club Mañana, we highly recommend visiting the bars above for a variety of reasons - the largest of which is we think you'll have a great time at any of them. In addition, you will thoroughly enjoy all of the recommended restaurants. Please don't mistake our recommendations for a comprehensive list. There are so many wonderful restaurants in Puerto Vallarta that this list only scratches the surface. Honestly, we don't have the time nor the capacity to visit and review all of the restaurants in town, but here are a few additional standouts: Picnic, Casa Naranjo, Trio, Kaiser Maximilian, Barrio Sur, Cilantro's, Vitea, Espresso, the Coffee Cup, and A Taste of Italy.
